ANT 317 - African Diaspora Anthropology and Archaeology Credits: 3
This course chronicles traditions and transformations of African, African-Caribbean, African-Latino, and African-American people by exploring the links among religious beliefs, values, and rituals throughout the African Diaspora. Students will examine the culture of African Diaspora populations, paying particular attention to ritual, music, worship traditions, and magical-medicinal practices through the examination of ethnographies, historical documents, film, and material culture.
