ANT 332 - Hunter-Gatherers

The subjects of this course are hunter-gatherer or “foraging” societies of the past and present, and their scientific study from a Western science perspective. The course focuses on variability in the foraging way of life and among foraging societies, and it examines the factors that may account for this variability. This is not a strict “culture survey” course, however, in that we will review methods and theory for analyzing these cultures, as well as the current knowledge of them.
