COR 171 - Core Historical Inquiry - Citizenship Credits: 3
General education course in techniques of historical investigation. Students learn to explain the relevance of historical study, including but not limited to causality, continuity, change over time, and the impact of historical processes on the present. Students identify and distinguish between primary and secondary sources and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view within both source-types while learning to appreciate the importance of context when analyzing specific historical topics and developments. Titles, themes, and time periods vary by section but focus on citizenship with integrity.
