COR 173 - Core Historical Inquiry - Community Credits: 3
General education courses in techniques of historical investigation. Varying topics and time periods. Students learn to explain the relevance of historical study, including but not limited to causality, continuity, change over time, and the impact of historical processes on the present. Students identify and distinguish between primary and secondary sources and critically evaluate ideas, arguments, and points of view within both source-types while learning to appreciate the importance of context when analyzing specific historical topics and developments. Themes and titles vary by section but focus on respectful and inclusive community.
