HON 400 - Senior Honors Forum Credits: 1
Prerequisite(s): HON 300
- Senior Honors Forum (HON 400) is a one-credit hour course where honors students complete their capstone project. Students will be required to present their projects to students in HON 200 /HON 201 as well as to a public audience on Honors Day.
- Honors students must submit their capstone projects to their committees at least ten weeks before the end of their graduating semester. Honors students will complete a formal defense. Their defense must take place eight weeks before the end of their graduating semester. The committee will evaluate the student’s capstone project and decide whether the project has been successfully completed.
- Six weeks before the end of their graduating semester, honors students must submit honors portfolios. The centerpiece of the honors portfolio is the student’s capstone project, and it also includes all major work and accomplishments the student completed in the program. The Director evaluates the honors portfolio to determine whether or not the student graduates with honors program recognitions.
- If a student will be away during their final semester (participating in study abroad, internship, etc.), they have the option of defending their final project during their last semester on campus, or – with the approval of their committee – defending in absentia.
This course will be graded on a Pass/Fail Basis.
