PSY 344 - Adolescent Psychology

Prerequisite(s): PSY 101  and six hours in Psychology.
This course focuses on the psychosocial aspects of the developing person from adolescence through early adulthood. Stages of development in the emerging personality are emphasized. Topics including: theories of development; puberty; biological and cognitive development; development of the self; identity; emotions; personality; gender and sexuality; morals and values; the influence of families, peers, and culture; adolescent problems; and health, stress and coping.
