Prerequisite(s): EDU 202
The focus of the course is to develop the skills and dispositions necessary for pre-service teachers to serve as leaders in the field of education. Through demonstrations, a flipped classroom approach, discussion boards, collaboration, and application projects, students will acquire instructional skills needed to integrate the latest in educational technologies to maximize both teaching and student achievement in the content areas. Through this course, students will gain experience with the roles digital tools play to support teaching methods and learning strategies. Students will learn to (1) apply technology, including Google tools, into K-12 and exceptional student education classrooms for project-based learning, flipped learning, and blended learning; (2) use the latest digital tools to design curriculum-based educational technology applications such as multimedia videos and podcasts, web quests, and virtual field trips; (3) create projects that promote creativity and critical thinking using the best educational presentation and content area apps; and (4) learn the basics of coding.
