EEL 431 - Elementary Methods of Language Arts Credits: 3
Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Education Department, EEL 301 , EEL 302 This course builds on the best practices for teaching the reading process learned in the prerequisite courses and focuses on an understanding of language, the writing process, and communication. Students will differentiate the stages of the writing process, distinguish the modes of writing, apply instructional methods for teaching writing conventions, and identify and apply instructional methods for developing listening and speaking skills. Required for EEL, ELESE, EDDEL majors. A 20-hour practicum is required. Fall and Summer Terms
