Coastal Environmental Science Minor

The Environmental Science minor is designed to familiarize students with the natural world by providing a sound foundation of knowledge concerning our planet, diverse Floridian and global ecosystems, natural processes, and ecological sustainability. This program provides a science based route for civic engagement, problem solving, group cooperation, and personal growth. The addition of this minor to any major course of study will provide a unique opportunity for Flagler College students to engage with their community and their peers in undergraduate research. Students who pursue a minor in Environmental Science must take a minimum of 16 science credits.

Prerequisites (3-6 credits)

MAT 135 - College Algebra Credits: 3 or placement
Complete one of the following Natural Science Inquiry Courses:
COR 121 - Core Natural Scientific Inquiry - Citizenship Credits: 3

Notes:

Coastal Environmental Science majors cannot minor in Coastal Environmental Science.
Biology Majors and Biology Minors can minor in Coastal Environmental Science, however all coursework within the CES Minor MUST BE additional and non-redundant. Therefore BIO Majors cannot use BIO 214 , PHY 236 , CHE 247 , NAS 325 , BIO 331 , or their Biology Elective courses to fulfill CES Minor requirements.
Students pursuing minors in both CES and Biology must choose elective courses that are non-redundant for each minor.
